FBC Jenks Kid’s Staff

Name: Keith Badgett

Title: Associate Pastor of Children

Responsibilities: Ministering to Birth – 6th grade by developing life-long followers of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).  Empowering parents to grab hold of biblical concepts and reinforce them at home (Deuteronomy 6:5 – 9). The four pillars of children’s ministry are:

  • Share the Gospel and allow kids to respond (John 3:16)
  • Teach age appropriate Bible skills that make God’s Word come to life (Hebrews 4:12)
  • Create opportunities for children to serve (1 John 3:18)
  • Instruct them on the importance of prayer (Philippians 4:6).

Hobbies: Playing music, wood working, wrestling with my 3 boys Levi, Porter, & Dane, eating at new hole-in-the-wall restaurants with my wife, Hannah.

Education: BA in Meetings & Destinations Mgmt. (Northeastern State University), Masters of Arts in Christian Education with a Concentration in Family Ministry (Southwestern  Baptist Theological Seminary).

 Favorite Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:58- “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your  labor is not in vain.”

Name: Janet Seltzer

Title: Director at FBC Jenks Community Preschool

Responsibilities: Director of Community Preschool, a mother’s day out program for preschoolers

Hobbies: Boating and spending time with friends and family.

Education:  Elementary Education major and Spanish minor (Simpson College, Iowa). Serving on staff in the Community Preschool since 1989.

Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 127:3- “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.”

Name: Dana Cantrell

Title: Minister of Preschool

Responsibilities: Ministering to preschoolers and their families as well as Preschool Ministry volunteers and staff. Overseeing Adventure Land and other facilities as well as supporting ongoing church wide ministries and missions. Supporting the our church’s purpose of Connecting people to God, Others, and God’s mission. The 4 Pillars of the Preschool Ministry are:

M- Ministry – to every child,  every family, every volunteer within Preschool Ministry
E- Education – teach every child using a variety of learning styles. Help lay the foundation for a future relationship with Jesus.
S – Safety – provide a safe and secure environment for preschoolers to learn, explore, and discover.
S- Sanitation – provide a clean and orderly environment for preschoolers to begin to learn how much God loves them and how important they are to Him.

Hobbies: Gardening, quilting, creating, and spending time with family which includes my husband Robert of 31 years, 3 daughters, Haleigh, Paige, and Caitlin and three precious grandkids: Ryder, Ryleigh, and Reese.

Favorite Bible Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
